Before their success, "The Toxic Avenger," the Troma really made known, and found with Toxie a figurehead, turned Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman in a fun teen comedy about the first time a sensitive approach to the issue we do not expect, however, . In addition to fart and there are some Fäkalhumor really good jokes. Sun drags Mitch with a sexbessesenen, overwrought friend to a meeting, which ends in total chaos or imagine eating together at the Annie her parents eating their new friend. That there is a lack of any table manners, what everyone present, however, does not seem to mind. Wonderfully absurd scene.
The stories fit well into the overall story, and in between there's some nonsense, as the camp leader, who would rather play poker than to seek for missing or perform an absurd nature film, shot by a poisonous gas company that can.

In a supporting role Vincent D'Onofrio, known to be seen from Full Metal Jacket. The rest of the cast otherwise has a rather modest filmography.

by a volcanic eruption in Mexico awaken some giant scorpions from their centuries-old sleep. In U.S. horror films of the 50s have provided several large animals or insects for all sorts of mischief. In Jack Arnold's "Tarantula" it was a spider, Douglas Gordon in "Them!" Came the ants and in Bert I. Gordon "locusts" many grasshoppers on the shore. In "The Black Scorpion" there are giant scorpions (the singular of the title is therefore not entirely correct) that are invading Mexico.
content is changed, the principle of the little monster movie. The scorpions are running the people. A scientist, a brave warrior and a beautiful girl were raised against the beasts. A well-known scheme that works again.
What the movie really moved a few steps up, the excellent special effects by Willis H. O'Brien, who also formerly involved in King Kong. Using stop motion are brought to life the scorpions, while being cut off and in between a greedy model drooling into it. The transition between the animation scenes and real scenes does it very well.
some really impressive scenes is there to see. Thus, two of our heroes abseil into a cave where the giant scorpions find a kind of worm and a spider become a disturbance, leading to several fights. Worth seeing the scene where the scorpions derail a moving train connecting to pounce on the passengers. Trick Technically absolutely terrific.
few difficulties, the film, however. First, several plot holes. For instance, in the above-mentioned cave a dozen Scorpio, the skillful ignore the presence of our heroes and thus prefer to fight each other something.
repeat in the final, some animated scenes again and again and also the scorpion model loses slavering after the umpteenth time show slow its effects.

"The Black Scorpion" actually has the makings of a classic. The effects are great, some scenes are really great and except for continuous low-trailer a round thing.
